Assuming that SK means Saskatchewan, it’s probably a Skoda that was sold new in Canada in the 80s, around the same time we got Ladas and Dacias.

There's a dude who lives down the street from me with a brown one of those. Still has the Ontario plates on it. He doesn't drive it often, but I have seen him drive it.

It means Slovakia, which implies the car was imported from there. It’s pretty unusual to see a metal plate instead of a sticker.

It was imported, it even has the European license plate bracket and SK stands for Slovakia.
